blessings...

Brooklyn Marie Hixson's Blessing Nov. 2010

Unfortunately for me and lucky for the camera shop...My camera of only 2 months decide to throw itself out of my finger and through a temper tantrum because I took it out into the snow. So pics from the past holidays are almost none exiting. But I'm thankful for many things not caught on camera.....

We had Emily's shower despite snowy weather and driving around a Road CLOSED sign, only to quickly decide they were right and snucked threw the back roads of Murtaugh to the interstate to make it to Burley.
The Shower was fun...

Thanksgiving was short beings we ran out of time at my mom's and work was calling my name WAY TO SOON. nothing like serving people on the holidays.

Black Friday...lets not even talk about that. The only thing that comes to mind is :
#1 I will never take the same approach again....
#2 I will never get over being cold......
#3I will never get over being cold.....
#4 I will never get over being cold.....

Taking off to Las Vegas to meet our sweet Brooklyn completed our weekend.....So sweet she is.....
The blessing was very nice and we are still here....no chance of ever coming back....by choice :)

More of the weekend to come later!!!!
(Trevor was trying to be helpful and hold the bottle)

I'm so glad we stayed so Kobe wouldn't have missed out on "dressing up" with Madison. Kobe climbed into our overnight bag. First dress up outfit ...he was sent quickly back up to the room to change. My bra around his neck, just didn't seem quite the right style. He pick out his assessories all by himself. Notice the clipped tie on the sleeve (bottom picture)...very clever. I was actually impressed with the ways he came up to tie the scarf all by himself. I was taking tips. The hat, also mine, he figured out how to "change" his "dress up" clothes by wearing different...."see mom now the buckles are in front".......

P.S Julie if you read this monday....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Hope they call me...

It's great to see little brothers grow up and even better when they decide to serve a mission.  I have seen such a difference him in just his preparing to leave. MOSTLY All Smiles. I just can't wait for him to return in two years.I just can't wait to see the changes two years will make.

I'm sooo jealous he'll be fluent in espanol!

We as a family were very excited. The boys each got a missionary tag to be like "Uncle Dustin" and we made a fun  "How to survive the MTC" package for him... now all we have to do is get the ball and keep start writing!!!!

Left Out Trevor

Jason brought it to my attention I never posted anything about Trevor Turning 2!!! Well time just slips away and as Jason says "You have too many projects" Trevor I love you even though I never Posted! Trevor is so fun. He realllllly has gotten his own personality, yet a little of everyone in him.
We love it when you say "I wuv you", "Varroom Raroom", "I like it"....Your smile will melt any girls heart!

It's funny how you wouldn't know any different when  he wasn't here, but now you don't know what you  would do if he hadn't come. Just when you think you can't love another child as much as the first another one comes and somehow Your heart Love grows bigger. My two boys can be so similar yet they are soooo different. One thing is for sure They Are Mama's Boyzzz!
For now anyway

P.s. in my defense can i say i have tried to finish this post but nothing seems to work...pics especially....grrr Why would they turn if they were never like that in the first place. can't figure it out, none the less i have posted!

Four, "I'm already Four"

Some of the Following pics are from boys combined "little einstein party"....to be posted later!

"Mission of the Missing Instrument"

Kobe has been anticipating his birthday for quite some time. He was grinning ear to ear when he came in the living room for his morning hugs. Trevor and I started singing "HAPPY BITHDAY", when Kobe said "I already sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to myself. Well i think we are good for the day. He also made the comment "I don't want presents for my birthday." What 4 year old says that??
Special request for breakfast.........captain crunch cereal??!!

He eventually open the Hawkes' boyz lego's present. Trevor thought it was "COOOL" and preceeded to BAM everything sending tiny pieces everywhere. Well I think that it a toys to pay during Trevor's naptime! We have quite a few activities that we do then :)

When dad came home from work, he went on a scavenger hunt to find his new bike. The scavenger hunt was a big hit!!! <note to self more than the bike> He even said "Mom it's your birthday too" (me)"Uh my birthday isn't today" (Kobe)"Yes it is, Your  pretend birthday and I will make YOU a scavenger hunt." But with little encouragement from Trevor (who couldn't wait to go outside to ride) he was helmet up. Now you ahve to understand that our boys DO NOT peddle the bike they scoot /walk it. So it was a big step for Kobe to actually ride a bike. Despite being Fixated on the fact he "CRASHED" into the rode on his unknown detor to the sidewalk he got back on.
He loved putting together different things, one was a dragon that had to go everywhere with us. The UPS man came with good timing and he opened his new LEapster game, which led to him not wanting to go anywhere else. But because the boyz love pizza we thought it would be fun to go to GERDIES. well with kobe falling asleep on the way...waking up for the dinner party went as expected....CRANKY...
But 20mins later he was good and got to play on the video games they have there too. With an impressive 1st place on the race car game He even managed to win himself some free games. I swear i never won those games even at 12.
We ended the night with watching Tinker bell's and lost fairy rescew (yes he has a soft side) and star cupcakes with blue sprinkes and chocolate frost and chips ontop which he chose over icecream cake??
Kobe i love you so much...
1. I love it when you just say "i love you" just because.
2.You love to snuggle with me and the best huggest.
making sure I always give him a hug and kiss before i leave for work.
3.You love to learn and play your version of "Whip out"
4.You love to cook, take care of me and you say the darndest things to make us laugh.

Grandma Gwen apparrently thought Kobe needed a new blanket. Like his cribe blanket wasn't big enough anymore?? Kobe couldn't agree more. He went right away to snuggling up in it!

Temporary Home

"I can imagine the great Heavenly choirs singing as our beloved Savior was born to this Earth. Heaven to me is a place where there is good music sung by Heavenly choirs singing praises to God and the lamb." March 31, 1979

I have been wanting for a long time to type out Grandpa Jones history/journals. A chance to get to know him, his thoughts. I decided one of the value projects for YW gave me the extra incentive. About a week and half ago I started. This quote seems appropriate to share, for this day, Grandpa is finally being WELCOMED by his Maker, Family, friends and His DEAR SWEETHEART! Grandma Jones who has been gone for quite some time due to battle with cancer. His sweet wife now has stuck by his side and has been a great companion! One to be for ever blessed! I call this bittersweet day for there are many soft tears of sadness and JOY!

Elder Nelson stated, "Life does not begin with birth, nor does it end with death. Prior to our birth, we dwelled as spirit children with our Father in Heaven. There we eagerly anticipated the possibility of coming to earth and obtaining a physical body. But we regarded the returning home as the best part of that long-awaited trip, just as we do now. Returning from earth to life in our heavenly home requires passage through—and not around—the doors of death. We were born to die, and we die to live".

How thankful we are for the Gospel and for those ancestors that leave a LEGACY!
We love you!

may kodak rest in peace...

I'm sad to say i have been without my camera now for many a weeks due to it taking a tumble at girls camp and then finally telling me it had it by not snapping anymore pictures. it just simply teased me by turning on and ready to deliver at my command.....but NOTHING!
Therefore my phone has been in charge of picking up the slack, but i'm sure that is were they will stay due to the lack of knowledge on my part....

Monday morning, as chilly as says it is outside,it looks beautiful! I love opening the curtains in the morning to see blue skies. In the back ground Trevor is repeating something scrambled, but happy! I lift him out of bed, change his diaper and proceeded to turn on his favorite movie...."KAH CHOW" (aka CARS) With him satisfied and Kobe still sleeping next to him, i make my way thew my room to my throne. AHHH quite time. One of the only places for peace and quite where kids don't bother you (unless your Kim and doing construction) .....When my happy, not sleeping anymore son walks in...no more peace and quite, nope not even in the bathroom. Of course the little man follows and insist i follow him, trying to take my hand. Unsatisfied by the comment, "Trevor, mommies busy give me just a second." Of course because he wears the pants in the family, he persistance increases and out comes the bottom lip. Luckily for mommies distraction was nearby "look there are your cars" Distraction, we all know it works minutes. Unlucky for me, he noticed one that fell in the bathtub. He tried so hard but got high centered and started to cry. These are those times when they can almost get away with anything because really you are stuck. I barely could reached his shorts and pulled him to his feet. Finally Both boys decided to leave the room with Kobe making one of his fabulaous one-liners/ lovely comment, "Mom, now I have poop buggers" I simply reminded him "I didn't invite you" Oh, I love the start to Not-so-alone-time Monday mornings!!! I love my boys, despite their boyish comments.

It's best I didn't have a camera for this one :)
Because I no longer can post updated pictures and because I have to have one....I have chosen to post a few past pics of sister reunions.I'm soooooooooo excited for next weekend Expo time together.

Time for an update.....long over due

June....
Memorial weekend our family enjoys going around to the different cemeteries to remember family and friends. The weekend is also spent somewhere with the Jones's. This year was Indian Hot Springs. Highlights: Four-wheeling, Kobe got to release a humming bird from his hand...swimming...boys playing Frisbee... We also Found we NO LONGER fit in our TENT!

This year was the first time the boys and I got to join in on the Family Bike ride from Sheppard's the CeLes' house. Boys loved MOST of the ride :) This pic is for the gentle man who ran the stop sign in front of many witnesses.

Father's day is always a special time to focus on those loving Father's that work so hard for our family! I have the best father, father-in-law, grandpa's and the world's best hubby!

July...
My mom's favorite holiday is the Fourth and I have to say she has made it one of my favorites too. My sweet young Mother turned one year younger this year! There is never a word to describe what she means and how much she does for me.....I love you mom!!!!

Cuz Madison was down from Vegas area and the boys were so excited to have them down.Swimming, Hop To It, the zoo, parade....you name it they were together. Trevor, who is talking more each day loved to say "where's Madison". They eventually had to go home and Kobe was so sweet, it hadn't even been 2 days and he was saying "I miss Madison" I think for a minute they thought she was living at Grandma Candy's house forever.

Our Jensen Reunion was a hit once again. I was excited that we were able to go earlier this year. "This OLD house" was our theme....many neat crafts for women, men , and children were done and who else has a monster-mash Halloween DANC'N grove'n party in the mountains tell 10pm but US. We do have the best DJ in the family. Unforgetable memories of Beautiful chair lift ride and what a treat to be suprised with Uncle Allen and Aunt Treasea, Lisa Rae and Wendy/kids show up. I love when we catch up.......

With one day to be back and repack....Girls Camp was a great way to end the month. It was so fun to be a leader get to know the girls. Our ward was over the First years. You never know what to expect from girls who haven't been to camp before and it truelly was an interesting experience....I learned a lot, loved having all our leaders there Wednesday for the destiny walk, Thursday's Testimony meeting, enduring extra mile hike (that ended with only 3 of 24 of us actually completing the whole hike.....and we were the ones that got to see a deer). It was just a great reminder of priorities that helped increase my testimony!

I have to say I was looking forward to being with my boys and spending time with my hubby again! Thanks to EVERYone that pitched in to watch my Boys!!!!! They had a blast! LOVE YOU!!
